As some might have noticed, the Honda Accord Hybrid has been conspicuously absent for the 2016 model year. That's because our preferred automaker wanted to take the time to make sure it wasn't only more stylish than before, but also more efficient. On both counts, they have succeeded.

The 2017 Accord Hybrid will arrive this spring, and will garner best-in-class gas mileage thanks to a retuned powertrain. Consisting of a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine mated to a lithium-ion battery, it will also be about 16 hp more powerful than the outgoing mode. To bolster gas mileage, Honda has employed three drive modes that will activate during acceleration, strong acceleration, and high-speed cruising. In addition, Honda has also added unique touches, such as blue trim to the wheels and headlamps.
