Teen Safe Driving Event, Movie Night

Will demonstrate safe driving habits during events in May for National Youth Traffic Safety Month

 

OXNARD, CALF. - DCH Auto Group dealerships in Oxnard, CA will be hosting a teen safe driving event on Saturday, May 22 as part of National Youth Traffic Safety Month.  The event will feature safe driving demonstrations and activities, food, music and will conclude with a screening of the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

May is an important time for teens to be focused on driving safety. With prom, graduation, and summer trips just ahead, the potential for traffic-related deaths and injuries that involve young drivers and passengers increases alarmingly.  The Department of Transportation says traffic crashes are the leading killer of teens, with more than 5,000 dying annually. That's why DCH Auto Group dealerships in Oxnard, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and other DCH Auto Group dealerships in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut are hosting events all month long to educate teens about safe driving habits.

"We're really excited about this event," said Randall Holt, Parts and Service Manager for DCH Toyota of Oxnard.  "It's a fun and free way to get young people educated about driving safety."

DCH Auto Group is committed to helping teens drive safely with its Mindless Driving. Keep It Out Of Cars® initiative, an exclusive, long term, teen-focused, driving-safety community outreach program.  The focus is to keep "it"-as in, mindless driving-out of our teenagers' cars. This means not driving distracted, driving recklessly, or driving under the influence, to name a few.

The cornerstone of the program is the company's affiliation with SADD.  DCH Auto Group is the exclusive automotive dealer sponsor of SADD in New Jersey, southern New York, Fairfield, Connecticut, and southern California, where the company owns and operates a wide array of car dealerships.

The event will be held at DCH Honda of Oxnard's lot (1500 East Ventura Blvd., Oxnard) and will kick off at 6:00 PM with safe driving demonstrations, activities, food, fun, music, prizes and much more.  After sunset, around 8:00 PM, the movie will begin.  Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for watching the outdoor movie screen.  Ventura County local videographer and partner, Pyramid Pyro, is providing the movie screen and video projector for this event.
